Drainage matters more than the turf itself. We do the base prep, edging, and drainage so water actually goes somewhere and the turf doesn't peel up at the seams a year in. Around pools it softens the look of the deck. For pet zones it stays cleaner than mulch or dirt ever will.

Artificial Turf - your questions answered

Is artificial turf really pet-friendly?
Yes - modern residential turfs are designed for dogs specifically. UV-stable poly blades don't fade, permeable backings let urine drain through instead of pooling, and a compacted crushed-shell base with the right pet-grade infill controls smell. We recommend a monthly rinse plus an enzyme spray during summer.
How much does artificial turf cost per square foot?
Residential installs typically run $12-$18 per square foot including demolition of existing sod, base prep (2-3 inches of crushed stone + sand), the turf itself, seams, edging, and infill. Larger areas come in on the low end, small backyards on the high end. We provide a fixed per-project quote, not per-square-foot pricing that grows.
How long does artificial turf last?
A quality residential turf lasts 15-20 years in South Florida if the base is compacted correctly and drainage is good. The blades don't rot, the color is UV-stable, and there's no water/fertilizer bill. What can shorten lifespan: bad base prep, poor drainage, and heavy furniture or planters left in one spot indefinitely.
Does artificial turf get hot in the sun?
Turf runs 10-20 degrees hotter than the surrounding air on peak South Florida afternoons. We install shade-friendly infill blends that reduce heat, and cooling can be helped further by a 30-second garden-hose rinse. Under a covered roof or shaded pergola, temperature isn't an issue.
Can I install turf in a shady/wet area?
Yes. Turf doesn't need sun to grow (it doesn't grow) so shade is fine. Wet areas need extra base preparation - a French drain or catch basin tied into your yard drainage - to prevent standing water underneath. We assess drainage on the site visit and design accordingly.
Is turf good for a putting green?
Excellent. We install true-roll putting turfs at 3/8-inch pile with correct base compaction and hole cups - real breaks, real speeds, real chipping. Small backyard putting greens (200-400 sq ft) usually run $6,500-$11,000.
